PE Days: Tuesdays and Fridays - please come to school dressed in PE kit on these days.
Homework
This will be set every Friday and will be due to be returned the following Wednesday. The children can either complete the questions on the templates on Seesaw or in their homework books and then upload a photo to Seesaw.
The homework is outlined on Seesaw and will consist of:
- Maths - questions to consolidate the learning we have done together during the week or questions to recall number and multiplication facts to support learning.
- Spellings - ten new spellings will be posted on Seesaw and set on EdShed to practise each week. There will be a spelling test every Friday.
- An additional task – this will either be linked to English or another area of the curriculum.
Daily Reading – please encourage your child to read for 10 minutes each day. This can be recorded in their yellow reading record.
Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)
During the summer term, pupils in Year 4 participate in the Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). The MTC is statutory for primary schools. The purpose of the check is to determine whether pupils can fluently recall their times tables up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics. Pupils have 6 seconds to answer each question and will be required to answer 25 questions in total. We frequently practise recalling times tables using games, chants, and through using Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS). Children can access TTRS at home; if they are unsure where to find their login, please ask.
